Government Schemes: Full Introduction



Namami Gange Scheme:
  • Namami Gange Yojana was launched on 10 July 2014 for the conservation and purification of the Ganga River.
  • Water Resources Minister Uma Bharti  oversees this scheme.
  • The plan is to complete by 2020.
  • With this plan 2037 crore rupee has been allocated for the next 5 years. 

Prime minister jan dhan yojana:
  • Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana was launched on 28 August 2014.
  • The slogan of this plan is my account fortune maker.
  • The main goal of this scheme is to ensure bank account stand insurance pension to the disadvantaged sections and financial inclusion.
  • Any person above the age of 10 years can open a State Bank account with this information with 0 balance.
  • Under this scheme there is Provision of accident insurance of ₹ 100000 and life insurance of ₹ 30000.
  • As of 17 January 2018, 30.97 crore accounts have been opened under this scheme, of which 7368 9.7 crores have been deposited.

Make in India:

  • Make in India was launched on 25 September 2014.
  • The main objective of this program is to encourage multinational and national companies to manufacture their products in India and focus on job creation and skill enhancement in 25 sectors of the economy.
  • The main goal of this program is to increase the share of manufacturing sector in GDP from 16% to 25% by the current year 2020.


Clean India Movement:
  • Swachh Bharat Abhiyan was launched on 2 October 2014.
  • The main goal of this scheme is to make the whole of India clean by 2 October 2019.
  • The slogan of this scheme is one step towards cleanliness.
  • The Swachh Bharat Mission is being implemented by the Ministry of Urban Development respectively.

MP Adarsh ​​Gram Yojana:
  • MP Adarsh ​​Gram Yojana is a scheme launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the birthday of Jayaprakash Narayan on 11 October 2014.
  • The main objective of this scheme is the development of socio-cultural and infrastructure of the village.
  • The goal of this scheme is to develop each village by adopting 8 villages by the year 2019 and a total of 8 villages by the year 2024.
  • No new policy has been allocated for this scheme.

Mission Rainbow Expedition:
  • Union Health Ministry to bring Mission Indradhanush campaign under vaccination to all children.
  • Started on 25 December 2014 on the occasion of Good Governance Day.
  • The campaign, which showcases the seven colors of the rainbow, aims to achieve the goal of complete immunization by 2020.
  • 7 diseases under this scheme(Diphtheria whooping cough is vaccinated for tetanus, polio,TV, measles and hepatitis B.)

Initiative plan:
  • The All Plan was implemented nationwide on 1 January 2015.
  • The main objective of this scheme is to send subsidy money of LPG cylinders directly to consumers' bank accounts.
  • Or the plan is recorded in the Guinness World or Prime Minister Narendra Modi's most famous scheme.
  • This scheme is also known as DBTL ( Direct Benefit Transfer for LPG)Scheme.

Hriday plan:
  • Hriday Yojana has been launched on 23 January 2015 for the development and growth of Old Town Village in India.
  • Heritage City Development and Augmentation Scheme is the full form of the heart.
  • This scheme has been initiated by the Ministry of Urban Development.
  • The main target of this scheme is the selected 12 cities of the country(Ajmer, Amravati ,Amritsar, Nawada, Dwarka ,Kanchipuram, Mathura, Puri, Varanasi, Vellakanni and Warangal)to revive the cultural heritage.
  • To complete this plan, the time of 27 month  (March, 2017 )and a budget of spending 500 crores has been kept
Save your daughter, teach your daughter scheme( Beti padhao Beti bachao Yojana):
  • Beti Padhao Beti Bachao Yojana was launched by the Government of India from Panipat on 22 January 2015.
  • The main objective of this scheme is to empower girls to save and create awareness for welfare services for girls.
  • The main goal of this scheme is to promote gender equality and raise the sex ratio.
  • The scheme was launched with an initial amount of Rs 100 crore.
  • Madhuri Dixit was appointed as the brand ambassador of this campaign by the Government of India.
  • Sakshi Malik Aa has been appointed as the brand ambassador of this campaign by the Haryana government.

Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana:
  • Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana was launched by the Prime Minister on 8 April 2015. 
  • The full form of Mudra is Micro Unit Development and Refinance Agency
  • The objective of this scheme is to provide financial support
  • Three types of loans are given under this scheme Shishu Kishore and Tarun.
  • Under Shishu, there is a provision for giving loans up to 50 thousand under  Kishore 5 lakh and up to 10 lakh under Tarun.
  • Under the Mudra scheme, no processing is charged in providing loan.

Light scheme(ujala Yojana):
  • The Ujala scheme was launched on 1 May 2015 in place of the benefit scheme created by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
  • Ujala stands for unnat Jyoti by Affordable LEDs for All.
  • The main objective of this scheme is to distribute LED bulbs at low prices to reduce power consumption.


Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana:
  • Prime Minister Suraksha Bima Yojana was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Kolkata on 9 May 2015.
  • The main objective of this scheme is to make all Indian citizens casual to provide insurance cover.
  • Under this scheme, any Indian citizen between the age of 18 to 70 with a savings bank account can avail accident insurance ranging from one lakh to 2 lakh rupees per year by filling the premium in India.

Prime Minister Jeevan Jyoti Yojana:
  • Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Yojana was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 9 May 2015.
  • The main objective of this scheme is to provide life insurance cover to all Indian citizens.
  • Under this scheme, any Indian citizen between 18 to 50 years of age can get the benefit of life insurance of 2 lakh rupees by paying a premium of Rs 330 per year.


Atal Pension Yojana:
  • Atal Pension Yojana was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Kolkata on 9 May 2015.
  • The main goal of this scheme is to provide pension facility to the people of unorganized sector.
  • The scheme is administered by the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority.
  • Under this scheme, anyone in the age group of 18 to 40 years can get pension from 1000 to 5000 based on the amount deposited in the bank.
  • To avail the benefits of the scheme after the age of 60 years under this scheme, a person must contribute at least 20 years before getting pension.

Amrut Yojana:
  • Amrut Yojana was launched by the Government of India on 24 June 2015.
  • Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation is the complete form of AMRUT.
  • The plan includes creating 100 smart cities, developing infrastructure in 500 cities and building houses for all in urban areas by 2022.
  • A budget of ₹ 5000 has been kept by the government for this scheme.

Smart City scheme:
  • Smart city scheme was launched on 25 June 2015
  • The objective of the scheme is to develop 161 selected cities as smart cities by 2020.

Prime Minister Housing Scheme:
  • Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana was launched on 25 June 2015.
  • This scheme is also known as Housing for All.
  • The plan aims to build 2 crore new houses by 2022.

Digital India Mission:
  • Digital India Mission was launched on 1 July 2015.
  • The objective of this scheme is to make all government services available to the public electronically.

Prime Minister Agricultural Irrigation Scheme:
  • Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana was launched on 1 July 2015.
  • The purpose of this scheme is to provide water to farmers by any means.
  • This scheme aims to double the income of farmers by 2020.

Skill India Mission:
  • Skill India Mission launched on 15 July 2015.
  • This scheme aims at skill development of the youth of the country by 2022.
  • Mr. Sachin Tendulkar, brand of this scheme.

Prime Minister's Skill Development Scheme:
  • Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana was launched on 16 July 2015.
  • The purpose of this scheme is to train youth and provide jobs.

Deendayal Upadhyay Gram Jyoti Yojana:
  • Deendayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana was launched on 25 July 2015.
  • Such a low oak channel is to electrify all the villages and improve the financial condition of distribution companies and proper monitoring. 

Sagarmala Project:
  • The Sagarmala project was launched on 31 July 2015.
  • Under this project, a budget of Rs 7000 crores has been set to make 12 ports world class.

Rise scheme (UDAY yojana):
  • The UDAY scheme was launched on 5 November 2015.
  • Udaya's full form is Ujjwal Discom Assurance Yojana.
  • The main goal of this scheme is financial reform of electricity distribution companies and emerging from thorns.
  • Jharkhand is the first state to connect with this scheme.

Startup India:
  • Startup India launched on 16 January 2016.
  • Its main objective is to promote new businessmen and worship a conducive environment for starting a business.


Shyama Prasad Mukherjee  rurburn  Mission:
  • Shyama Prasad Mukherjee rurburn mission was launched on 22 February 2016.
  • The main goal of this mission is to build 300 rural families in the country for the promotion of local economic development in 3 years.

Setu bharatam Yojana:
  • Setu Bharatam Yojana was launched on 4 March 2016.
  • The main goal of this scheme is to free all national highways from railway cross-border by 2019.
  • A budget of 50000 crore rupees has been kept for this scheme to make a total of 15000 years.

Stand up India:
  • Stand Up India was launched on 5 April 2016.
  • The goal of this scheme is to provide credit to scheduled castes and women entrepreneurs.
  • Under this scheme, setting up of new companies has been ensured from 10 lakh to one crore.

Village rise to India rise:
  • The Bharat Uday Abhiyan from Village Uday started from 14 to 25 April 2016 on the 125th birth anniversary of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar.
  • Under this scheme, the development of the village was emphasized for the right development in the country.

Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Scheme:
  • Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana was launched on 1 May 2016.
  • The objective of this scheme is to provide free LPG connections to BPL families in rural and urban areas.
  • Under this scheme, the government provides financial assistance of 1600 rupees per connection to BPL families.
  • The budget of this scheme has been kept at Rs 8000 crores.


Initiation portal:
  •  Dichha portal was launched by Ministry of Human Resource Development on 5 September 2017.
  • This portal is helpful in training and empowering the teacher.


Senior pension insurance scheme:
  • Scheme was launched by the Prime Minister on 1 January 2017 and launched by LIC of India on 1 April 2017.
  • The objective of this scheme is to give guaranteed minimum interest rate to senior citizens aged 60 years and above.
  • This guaranteed interest rate is for 10 years for 8%.

Deendayal Upadhyay Sparsh Yojana:
  • Sparsh Yojana is a scholarship scheme launched on 3 November 2017 with the aim of increasing interest in postal collection of school children.
  • Under this scheme, a total of ₹ 6000 per year i.e. ₹ 500 per month scholarship will be given to 10 students i.e. maximum 40 students from class 6 to 9 from each.

Prime Minister Vay Vandana Yojana:
  • The scheme was launched by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on 21 July 2017.
  • This is a pension scheme for 60 year and above.
  • Under this scheme, senior citizens will get guaranteed  return of 8% for 10 years on opting for monthly pension option.

Prime Minister's Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana:
  • Saubhagya scheme has been launched on 25 September 2017.
  • The full name of this scheme is Pradhan Mantri Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana.
  • Under this scheme, a target has been set to provide electricity to every household by 31 March 2019, under this scheme, on the payment of just ₹ 500, others will also be provided connection.

Prime Minister Jan Arogya Yojana -Ayushman Bharat:
  • The scheme has been launched on 23 September 2018 in Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
  • The objective of this scheme is to provide health insurance to the economically weaker people, under this, every family under it will be provided cashless health insurance up to five lakh.
  • 10.74 crore BPL holders will benefit from this scheme.
  • The plan includes 1350 types of diseases including investigational,surgery, medicine.
Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan Yojana:
  • The scheme was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 5 March 2019.
  • Under this scheme, workers of unorganized sector will get the benefit of monthly pension of ₹ 3000 during old age.
